Verdant Impact, an AI-driven livestock technology startup, has raised $3 million in seed funding led by Unicorn India Ventures, with participation from Infynyte Club, Yash Kotak, Alok Soni, and a-IDEA NAARM.
The fresh capital will be used to expand the company’s team, strengthen its technology infrastructure, and increase market penetration across North and North-East India.
Verdant also plans to invest in research and development, enhance its Pashu.AI platform, and integrate blockchain technology into its livestock management systems.
Using AI, IoT and Blockchain to Transform Livestock Farming
Verdant Impact focuses on modernising India’s livestock sector through community-led and technology-enabled solutions aimed at improving productivity and sustainability in dairy farming.
The company combines artificial intelligence, IoT-based monitoring devices, and blockchain infrastructure to help farmers:
- Track livestock health in real time
- Improve bovine genetic diversity
- Monitor herd productivity
- Enhance animal welfare and disease detection
According to the company, these technologies allow farmers to optimise milk production while improving long-term sustainability.
Key Products Supporting Farmers
Verdant Impact has introduced two flagship products designed to modernise livestock management.
Pashu.AI
An AI-powered livestock management platform that provides:
- Health monitoring for animals
- Farm management insights
- Genetic diversity tracking for dairy herds
The platform helps farmers make data-driven decisions to improve productivity and herd health.
Bharat Pashudhan
An IoT-enabled device designed for real-time herd monitoring.
The device allows farmers to track:
- Animal health indicators
- Behaviour patterns
- Productivity metrics
By combining hardware and AI-driven analytics, the system provides actionable insights to dairy farmers.
The company claims its solutions have already served more than 600,000 farmers across India.
Strong Growth and Revenue Targets
Verdant Impact reports 8× revenue growth since its previous funding round in March 2025.
The startup is now targeting:
- ₹100 crore in revenue by March 2026
- Continued profitability while scaling operations
Alongside its core technology platform, the company has launched several initiatives aimed at supporting farmers and promoting awareness around livestock technology solutions.
One such initiative is the India Methane Mission, focused on reducing methane emissions in dairy farming.
The initiative aims to create carbon credit mechanisms for dairy farmers, supporting broader efforts toward net-zero emissions in the agricultural sector.
Investor Perspective
Anil Joshi, Managing Partner at Unicorn India Ventures, highlighted the increasing impact of climate change on agriculture and livestock systems.
He noted that AI and IoT technologies in livestock management can significantly improve:
- Animal health monitoring
- Milk production efficiency
- Sustainability in dairy farming
Joshi added that Verdant Impact demonstrates how deep-tech innovation can drive both social impact and strong business growth within India’s agriculture ecosystem.
Why This Matters
India is the world’s largest milk producer, yet much of the country’s livestock sector remains fragmented and dependent on traditional farming practices.
Technology-driven platforms like Verdant Impact aim to bridge this gap by introducing data-driven livestock management tools to small and medium dairy farmers.
Digital infrastructure in agriculture has the potential to:
- Increase farmer incomes
- Improve animal health outcomes
- Enhance food supply chain efficiency
- Support environmental sustainability goals
Looking Ahead
With fresh funding and expanding adoption, Verdant Impact plans to scale its AI-driven livestock technology platform across more regions of India.
By combining AI, IoT, and blockchain technologies, the company aims to create a more resilient, productive, and environmentally sustainable livestock ecosystem — empowering millions of dairy farmers with modern data-driven tools.
